Great dog friendly hike March 16, 2008

Live in suburban Boston and looking for a semi-challenging but “friendly on the dog’s legs” hike? Look no further than The Wachusett Mountain State Reservation.

Here’s the trail map. We parked at the HQ/Visitor’s Center. From the parking lot, you hop on the Bicentennial Trail which takes you to Pine Hill Trail. The Pine Hill Trail takes you about 700 feet higher from where you started. We then hooked up to the Mountain House Trail which took us back down to the Bicentennial Trail. From there, we hiked another 30 minutes on the trail, parallel to Mountain Road, which brought us back to the truck.

Not a bad little hike if you have a pooch.
