Mall Rats September 9, 2007

Hit the new Natick Mall, err, Natick Collection, today. In fact, it’s already been “Web 2.0-ized” with this Wikipedia entry.
Just opened yesterday and the structure is indeed impressive, despite it not being fully complete. Also, a few well needed, top notch chain restaurants have been added: The Cheesecake Factory, P. F. Chang’s China Bistro. In between dodging slack jawed teens, baby strollers and generally out-of-shape Americans, I couldn’t help but think – “who is going to shop at these luxury stores – Giorgio Armani, Juicy Couture, L’Occitane, Louis Vuitton, Lucky Brand Jeans, Martin + Osa, Max Mara, RUEHL No.925, Salvatore Ferragamo, Stuart Weitzman, and Zara???”
Yes, the mall was packed on day 2. But will it be on day 222? I hope so, but unfortunately, I think not. The latest news from Wall Street is far from promising.
Maybe I’ll be able to get that $150 Tommy Bahama at markdown in a few months…
